About Me:
I am a single mom with a 41/2 year old daughter named Hannah. I currently live in New Berlin where I also work driving a school bus for Durham School Services. I started attending Kaplan College in Milwaukee on July 16th as part of the Medical Assistant program. I'm scheduled to graduate in May 2009! YIPEE!!! I can't wait. I'm hoping to go into one of the following fields, OB-GYN, pediatrics, ER, or orthopedics. As part of our program we are required to do a 2 month externship and I would like to try and do mine with either my OB-GYN Dr. Leonhardt or my Hannah's pediatrician Dr. Rohloff. I love both of them, they have great bedside manner and interact well with their patients. They are part of the reason I chose the medical field. I am hoping to cross the stage in May wearing 3 cords, High Honors, Outstanding Attendance, and Student Mentor. I'm already right on track for the first two and will know if I can be a Student Mentor after 3 mods (20 days of classroom and labwork) I'm in my first mod still. The student also needs a recommendation from the teacher and I have already told her I am interested in the mentor program. Fingers crossed! I will keep everyone updated as to my progress. I won't know what my final grade is for the mod until halfway into the next one. High Honors here I come! :) Look for graduation pics and information come May!
